Seeing the other options Thomson's Tavern stood out, the food was really nice with some good options to choose from. Really friendly service. Quite a few tables were reserved so we may have been lucky to get a table.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Friendly and efficient staff. Great food and very generous servings. The Central Chicken, Salad and Chips, and the Porterhouse Steak with Chips and Roast Vegies were both tasty and filling. A very enjoyable experience. The garlic bread was also very yummy.
Amazing Restaurant with Exceptional Service! We had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every meal was an absolute delight! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. From the delicious breakfast options to the perfectly cooked lunch and dinner dishes, everything exceeded our expectations. What truly sets this place apart is the incredible hospitality. The owner is one of the kindest and most welcoming people we’ve ever met. He treats every guest like family, making the dining experience even more special. The staff is also wonderful—polite, attentive, and always smiling. If you’re looking for a restaurant with great food and warm, friendly service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!
Forgot to take photos of our meals! We had the seafood platter and the salt and pepper squid along with a glass of wine each. Very nice and very prompt service.
I enjoyed a local craft beer (from Koroit) whie browsing the well curated menu. I went with crisp pork belly which comes with baby carrots, brocollini, asparagus and creamed potato with honey mustard sauce on the side. Delicious, pork crisp both sides, lightly steamed vegies. The wine list (all by glass or bottle) has grown and it took a while to settle on a Grampians shiraz from a range of good moderately priced wines. The dessert cake selection looks wonderful but after the sizeable main I was replete. A very good bistrot-style restaurant, attentive competent friendly service, stylish room. Recommended.
We brought a piece of Lemon curd cheesecake and a piece of Lemon meringue pie. They were perfection. Great size, perfect taste and just amazing. Great staff, friendly, helpful and easy to talk too. If everything else is this good, your in for a tasty treat.
Such a pleasant surprise on our way from Melbourne to Mount Gambier. Amazing steaks, great service and kindness. We booked initially for 630 but we got a wrong arrival estimation and got lost, ending up arriving almost as kitchen was closing. Called them a couple of times to times to let them know and their answer was“ don’t worry we will be here” and so they were, all ready for us. I big thank you guys!!
The most remarkable moment for me was witnessing the incredible passion of the young chef while preparing the dishes. Truly inspiring 👍🏻 well done! Keep up the enthusiasm and dedication. The restaurant offers a lovely atmosphere, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization. The portion size of the wedges was very generous, easily enough for four people. Both the lamb cutlets and Scotch fillet were cooked to perfection, with generous portions that provide excellent value for money. The quality of the food was outstanding. Highly recommended
A great find. Squeaked in just before the kitchen closed. This didn’t stop them putting up excellent meals to rival many city restaurants. Good selection of wines by the glass as well. Highly recommended for great food and friendly professional service.
Every dish tasted great and cooked well. Seafood pasta had a generous serve of seafood and very tasty. Eye fillet steak was cooked very nicely with vegetables. Kids meals came with ice cream too. We sat near the kitchen and watched the chefs prepare the meals with great passion and teamwork.
